![]() ![]() Players will not like it when the server feels "late" to respond to them, or when the hitboxes are drifting 5 feet away from the actual player(That drives me crazy). The reason for all of this is to provide the best possible connections between the client and the server. ![]() The source engines interpretation features should keep things appearing smooth for most things in motion. On the opposite side of the spectrum, 16 tick is the lowest I would recommend going, but would be recommended for servers with 100 or more slots + vehicles. There will also be stuttering, and crashing the server with props will be much easier. It will require way to much CPU and the large amount of network throughput will increase the network latency, by extension causing the hit detection to drift(Assuming you have the maxupdaterate and maxrate set correspondingly). 66 is the default and is way to high for the amount of players and objects in that gamemode. The tickrate for DarkRP should be 33 MAX. You may also want to set the advanced settings for the server to insure optimal performance. There are some things you could change to improve the gameplay of the server, such as economy balancing, weapon damage balancing, job balancing, etc. A classic example of "You need lots of money to get rich". The only real way to gain a player base is to have one already. That causes the player count to fall even more, and then less players join, and the cycle repeats. ![]() People mostly ignore servers with low player counts. Maybe add something eye catching? And even that might not be enough. That's the sole thing that they will see when they skim over the numerous servers. There's not much to do that will make yours stand out besides the hostname. There are thousands upon thousands of DarkRP servers. ![]()
